Spondylolisthesis

 

Spondylolisthesis is the slippage of one vertebral body on another.  This can occur anywhere in the spine.  It can result in pain, weakness, or numbness.  Causes include congenital, traumatic, or as a result of prior surgery.  When a patient is symptomatic, treatment may require surgery.  Non surgical treatments are an option in many cases.  Surgery typically requires decompression with fusion.
